@@jimmie999999999 It is a tool that requires a gentle touch and some common sense to use! You can't treat it like a man might harshly treat an unruly mule. You need to have finesse and dexterity to manipulate this fine tool. You would need not any help from customer service if you knew what you were doing! Send it to me! I'll gladly take it off of your hands!! 😎

One of my connector plugs (that the o2 sensor plugs into) on the driver side bank has melted through… is there a way to replace the wire from the connector back to the ecm? I can replace the o2 sensor easily but the actual plug and wire that heads off to the computer is melted through. I can solder on a new plug but was hoping I could replace that whole wire/plug assembly to have a factory safe connection… thanks to anyone that can assist!
Replacing the whole wire back to the ECM is a problem. I'm not saying you can't do it but it would be very difficult. The best thing you can do is solder a new plug on to it and see if that works. I hope you can get it going.
@@mymechanicdallas gotcha. I wasn’t sure if it had another plug connector further up the wiring that could be swapped out. I found more folks with wiring diagrams for patching in a replacement plug. Thank you so much for the info!!! Side note: I only found this melted plug due to catalytic out of range reading in a check light. Car place looked at it, showed them pictures of the entire plug melted through… they said that was not the problem and wanted to change out both cats… whether the cats are bad or not, one would assume if the o2 sensor can’t read anything, it would throw that out of range code. Needless to say, I told them to get it off the lift. I may have been wrong in doing that but it didn’t sit right with me. Thanks again for the info!!

The labor's not too bad on replacing a sensor. Sometimes the sensor can be a little pricey though!
